A note from Marjory Sweet

What feels like a lifetime ago, but was only one month ago, Eva Claycomb and I talked on the phone about what we could do to generate some good moods & generosity. This is what we came up with: a Farm Lunch-inspired kitchen pamphlet for quarantine times. The pamphlet includes crisis cooking wisdom from MFK Fisher, two recipes, and a useful conversions chart. Think of it as pandemic ephemera, and as a good cause: to get one, email me proof of donation to any food-related COVID-19 relief fund and I will send you the digital file in return. Admire as is, or print and fold. Stick it on your fridge. Slip it in a care package.

Give, cook, share. marjory.sweet@gmail.com is the address to use.

Need a Good Read? Suggestion from Marjory Sweet

Always Home by Fanny Singer

A very personal peek into life with famed restaurantrice (as she refers to herself) Alice Waters through the eyes of her daughter, Fanny. Part memoir, part cookbook, the book is full of warmth, humor and memorable food. Even if you've never eaten at Chez Panisse, or think you know everything there is to know about A.W., this book will surprise you. I feel it's also a meditation on the true meaning of home, which is relevant to all of us at this moment.
